I believe that beauty definitely is in the eye of the beholder. We do not create art for any deep philosophical or political reason, but to capture the awe-inspiring beauty of our surroundings, from the big picture down to the minute detail. Often times, we get caught up in the day to day routines that we forget to step back and stand in wonder and amazement at this incredible planet we have been put upon. David and I are so fortunate to live in an area that tourists flock to each year. “The Land of Waterfalls” as it’s called. Within Transylvania County, there are over 250 named waterfalls. Every day we spend together is an adventure. Inspiration lies right outside our front door. Our countless walks through the woods supply us with endless subject matter. Back in our studio, we try to evoke the same sights, smells, stillness and peace and tranquility of our experience. If we are able to transport the viewer to another place and time, then we have done our job well.
